Discover the Autumn Black Oaks at Goodrich-Loomis – Guided Hike

Just across the road from the Goodrich-Loomis Conservation Centre lies one of the area’s best-kept secrets — the North Loop Trail.
Join Lower Trent Conservation for a guided autumn hike through beautiful meadows and towering pine plantations, and discover the Black Oaks that make this landscape so special. Learn about these distinctive trees, their role in supporting local wildlife, and the unique habitat they provide.
As we explore the trail, we will take in the sights and colours of autumn while learning more about the natural features and ecological importance of this special area.
Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful afternoon outdoors, come discover the autumn beauty of Goodrich-Loomis.

Forest Wellness Series
Gratitude Walk
Take time after Thanksgiving to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the natural world. This special Forest Wellness session is centred on gratitude, reflection, and renewal, inviting you to slow down and appreciate the simple moments that often get overlooked in our busy lives.
As autumn settles into the forest, we’ll take a gentle walk through the woods, using the sights, sounds, and changing colours of the season as an opportunity to practise mindfulness and reflect on the things we are grateful for. Known in Japan as forest bathing, this practice encourages us to slow our pace, engage our senses, and simply be present in nature.
Simply bring yourself, warm layers, sturdy footwear suitable for light walking, and perhaps a water bottle. Come ready to breathe deeply, wander gently, and take some time for yourself while connecting with the beauty of the autumn forest.

Junior Conservation Club

Get ready to explore, play, and discover nature together! The Junior Conservation Club is a fun, hands-on program for young children ages 3–6 and their caregivers. Each week, children will connect with nature through outdoor exploration, sensory activities, games, crafts, and plenty of opportunities to get curious about the natural world.
Led by Lower Trent Conservation staff, this program encourages children to learn through play while building a love and appreciation for the outdoors.
Ages: 3–6
Caregiver participation required.

Volunteer Events
Seymour Conservation Area
Join Lower Trent Conservation for a hands-on volunteer day focused on learning about and removing invasive Phragmites at Seymour Conservation Area.
Participants will learn about this invasive plant, its impacts on local ecosystems, and how manual removal can help protect and restore natural areas.
