Trail Stewards Are Back! Join Us for Another Great Year on the Trails
Following the overwhelming success of our inaugural year, we’re thrilled to invite returning and new volunteers alike to join us in preserving and maintaining the integrity of our local conservation areas. This initiative is designed to engage nature lovers, hikers, and community members in the ongoing care of LTC’s trail systems.
With ten conservation areas and seven natural habitat areas—spanning many kilometers of trail—maintaining them are is not a small task. That is why the Volunteer Trail Steward Program is so vital. Our dedicated stewards play a key role in keeping trails clear, safe, and accessible year-round. From removing fallen branches and debris to identifying and reporting trail hazards or maintenance needs, your efforts help ensure an enjoyable, hazard-free experience for all who explore our trails—whether on foot, by bike, or simply soaking in nature.
New this year, we’re excited to launch an interactive Trail Steward Reporting System! This digital tool empowers stewards to instantly log trail observations, concerns, or issues in real time while out on patrol. Whether you spot erosion, a broken boardwalk, or a downed tree, you can quickly alert staff so that action can be taken efficiently and effectively. This added feature will improve response times and communication between our stewards and conservation lands team, creating a more dynamic and collaborative trail care experience.
Together, we can continue to protect the natural beauty of our trails and ensure that everyone—hikers, bikers, and wildlife alike—can safely enjoy these community treasures. Join us this season and become a vital part of a passionate, growing team of Trail Stewards making a lasting difference.
