Something had to be done about the pollution of the Bay.  A federal, provincial and local cleanup partnership was created in 1986 to draft a Bay of Quinte Remedial Action Plan.  Stage One of the plan defines the problems.  Stage Two, "The Big Cleanup", recommends actions to restore the ecosystem and their implementation.  Stage Three is monitoring to measure success. 

An updated strategy, the Five-Year Work Plan, 2001-2005, was recently completed in consultation with the various Bay of Quinte partners, stakeholders, and the public.  Cleanup actions identified in the work plan will help to realize specific targets including:
