A  Source Protection Committee will oversee the process of gathering information about the watershed, assessing threats and assembling this information into a comprehensive Drinking Water Source Protection Plan.

The committee will be made up of local stakeholders such as municipalities, agriculture, landowners, industry, business, First Nations community groups and the general public.  Details on how these committees are formed and how they will operate will be contained in regulations that will be issued to accompany the Clean Water Act.

The Committee is expected to be formed by mid-2007. Stay tuned here for information about the formation of a local committee for the Trent Conservation Coalition Source Protection Region.
